My love for hospitality never ceased even after I left the the industry. The business of happiness is just too captivating for me to forget. The excitement on guest's faces when they check in, the warmth & love when diners celebrate a birthday at the restaurant, the blissful wedding couples when they tie the knot, the warm handshakes from people conducting businesses during a conference - I miss them all.

So....I came back for a short getaway, at one of the most extraordinary places that I had served - Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.

Conveniently located just 15 minutes away from Changi International Airport, the family-friendly Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is nestled in heritage Katong, a historical area on Singapore’s East Coast near the city. A short walk away is East Coast Park with attractive beaches & facilities popular with families. Opposite the hotel is an abundance of local eateries as well as Parkway Parade Shopping Centre, a one-stop shopping destination that caters to every family or the business traveler’s needs.

I got very excited by their 'All-New Roxy Chef’s Table' 7-course menu that features the diversity of Asian flavours created by Executive Chef Lester. The Yellow-Fin Tuna Carpaccio consists of cubed tuna that are rubbed with some Chinese wine & then flambéed. The Dongchimi Capellini consist of a thin ball of pasta that is served with cold consommé. The Confit Duck Breast with Kyuri adds a Japanese twist to the popular western dish. Char-grilled Marbled Wagyu Ribeye can be savoured in 4 ways: with beef gravy, smoked salt, crispy garlic or on its own.

My verdict? If it's not deserving, I will not write about it. My stay at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is fully paid by myself & all my reviews are absolutely unbiased.
